Experience: Studied and worked in Japan for 2 years cumulatively, with edo sashimono and sukiya carpenters. Trained under sukiya carpenters in the United States for 7 years prior to that. Taught a Japanese carpentry class at Chozen-Ji Zen temple in Honolulu.

General shop rate: The shop I work out of is set up for fast, accurate, Japanese-oriented work. Machine quality exceeds most professional standards for equipment and tuning. Three-phase industrial machines, including 520mm jointers, planers, sliding saws, mortisers, many with pneumatic clamps and digital read-outs for speed and accuracy. Professional-grade Japanese hand tool work, including hand plane finishing. In general, work is accurate to 0.1mm if necessary.
